decided to fly today
so I climbed
down
through this sewer
my body
where from my toes
my mind could sense
the way up
so it floated
and I watched it go
awkwardly at first
but then it grew
these tremendous wings
shades of red and gold
and I was glad
that this part of me
at least
was on its
way home
