Mind Bomb

Every bomb that falls
falls with my name on it
and yours-America
sincerely and indifferently

Money it seems enough
to bomb indefinitely
bomb until the last syllable of recorded time
bomb until we are all united
one nation under a torrent of “peacemakers”
dropping with precision in the name of freedom
in the name of all Americans, from Jamestown
to New York City

Apathy prevails
and our inconceivable capacity to destroy ourselves
continues to thrive unabated

Why do we remain subservient, impassive, and subordinate?
Obedient little children
unwilling to risk our own supposed freedom
to guarantee true freedom
for those who have never had the opportunity
to take it for granted

Freedom is the one thing you cannot have
unless you are willing to give it to others

Well America we give it everyday
from high above
descending like God’s own infinite wisdom,
spilling from the weeping clouds
in despair at our lack of humanity
our inability to reason,
our irrepressible desire
to annihilate with impunity
in the name of freedom
in the name of all Americans
and
ME
